From High-Pressure Performance to Situational Hypnosis

I work with professionals, leaders and high performers to help them perform at their best in the moments that matter most.

A Background in High Performance Environments

I spent two decades working in high-pressure corporate environments, where results were often decided in critical moments β€” and how you performed in those moments made all the difference.

In those environments, I saw first-hand how capable, intelligent people could underperform β€” not because of lack of ability, but because of their internal state under pressure

Nerves, anxiety, self-doubt.

It wasn’t a knowledge problem. It was a β€˜state’ problem. It was how people showed up when the pressure was on.

The Turning Point

I experienced this first-hand in my own career.

I was the front runner to lead a $200M tech business.
I had the backing of the incumbent.
I had the track record to deliver what was needed.
And I had strong support across the organisation.

Everything pointed to me getting the role.

But on the day of the final pitch, something changed.

I froze.

Despite being fully preparedβ€”and knowing I was capabIe. I didn’t show up as I should have.
I didn’t present with the clarity, confidence, and authority that had got me there.

And I didn’t get the role.

The capability was there.
The opportunity was there.

But the result was different.

The difference wasn’t my ability.
It was how I showed up in that moment.

When pressure is high, performance is not a function of skillβ€”it’s a function of state.

Situational Hypnosis gives you control of that stateβ€”on demand, in the moments that matter.

What I Saw at Scale - Across Organisations

For much of my corporate career, I specialised in turning around underperforming teams and organisations.

I worked in leading transformation consultancies, focused on improving performance at scale.

Across that experience, one pattern became impossible to ignore:

The β€˜state’ people brought into critical moments.

This defined success more than ability, strategy or even motivation.

It was whether someone could access the right stateβ€”at the exact moment it mattered.

I saw highly capable individuals underperform when it mattered most.
And I saw others outperform expectations. Not because they were more skilled, but because they showed up differently in the moment.

The pattern was clear.

When pressure is high, performance is not a function of skillβ€”it’s a function of state.

Situational Hypnosis is designed to give you control of that stateβ€”on demand, in the moments that matter.

The Development of Situational Hypnosis

That realisation changed everything.

It led me to develop Situational Hypnosis. A rapid and accessible approach to help people take control of their state and perform at a higher level in real-world situations.

Not after the event.
Not in theory.

But in the moment.

Where This Matters Most

Situational Hypnosis is designed for the moments that define performance:

  • Presentations

  • Sales conversations

  • Leadership situations

  • Interviews

  • High-pressure decision making

Because performance is not just about what you know β€” it’s about who you are in the moment.
